Mammal Giant Multipolar Neurons Slide, Smear, Luxol® Fast Blue
This prepared slide of mammalian nervous tissue is a great way to begin your study of the nervous system. Students easily identify the giant, multipolar motor neurons along with their anatomical features (cell bodies, nuclei, dendrites, and axons) using this slide.
In addition, small glial cells can be identified in the nervous tissue smear. These motor nerve cells carry information from the spinal cord and brain (central nervous system) to muscles or glands of the body.
The following features should be identifiable on the slide:
- cell bodies
- nuclei
- dentrites
- axons
- small glial cells
