Homo neanderthalensis skull, Sawyer/Maley reconstruction (50,000 years).
This Neanderthal skull reconstruction is available exclusively from Bone Clones®.
It was reconstructed by anthropologist Gary J. Sawyer, of the American Museum of Natural History and Blaine C. Maley, Anthropology Department, Washington University, and was featured in the AMNH January, 2003 exhibit entitled "The First Europeans: Treasures From The Hills Of Atapuerca."
The reconstruction of the skull and jaw are primarily from La Ferrassie with additional transplanted elements from La Chapelle-aux-Saints, Saccopastore 1, Shanidar 5 and Spy 1.
