Freshwater jawless leeches are annelids.
They have a flattened body shape and an anterior sucker which helps them attach to surfaces and prey organisms.
They are typically found in detritus, on water plants or at the edge of ponds.
Southern Biological's freshwater leeches are typically 3 to 10 mm long. See image gallery for size comparison.
