This refill kit contains replacement materials that can be used with the apparatus in G2.98 or G2.98CK.
There are sufficient materials for ten experiments.
The Carolina Biological Exploring Electrophoresis of DNA Kits contain everything needed for students to separate mixtures of pre-cut DNA fragments using samples of lambda DNA cut with EcoRI and HindIII along with uncut DNA to effectively demonstrate the action of restriction enzymes and the principles of electrophoresis.
Gels can be run in 3.5 hours using three 9V batteries or overnight with one battery.
The refill kit contains agarose, concentrated TBE buffer, ready-to-use pre-digested DNA samples which are stable at room temperature, CarolinaBLU® DNA stain, pipette tips and carbon fibre electrodes.
To run the experiments you will also need electrophoresis apparatus from the teacher demonstration or classroom activity kit and 9 volt batteries or equivalent DC power supply.
The use of mains power is not recommended for this apparatus.
