Histology of the Urinary System.
Various cells and tissues of the Urinary System are displayed in clear colour photomicrographs.
The ureter, medulla and cortex are identified in a cross section of a small mammalian kidney (11x magnification).
A longitudinal section of the ureter at greater magnification (60x) shows transitional epithelial cells and connective tissue.
Transitional epithelial cells and connective tissue are also shown at greater magnification (420x) from the wall of a urinary bladder.
Pictures of cells in the Renal Cortex and Renal Medulla identify the following: Renal corpuscle, Convoluted tubule and Blood vessel.
An image of a renal corpuscle at high magnification (1300x) shows the Glomerus, Glomerular capsule and Capsular space.
