The Geiger Counter & Rate Meter with Geiger Muller tube is a portable unit designed to detect and count high-energy Alpha particles, Beta particles, and Gamma rays.
It offers the convenience of continuous counting or preset periods of 10 sec, 60 sec, or 100 sec. The internal Geiger Muller (GM) tube features a thin mica window protected against mechanical damage by a plastic grille.
The unit's maximum Geiger counting rate reaches 10kHz, and users have the option to enable or disable an audible 'click' for each particle count using a press button.
Operating on 3 standard 'AA' (penlight) batteries, the Geiger Counter & Rate Meter can run for about 100 hours, and even longer with alkaline cells.
A 'bAtt' display will briefly appear when batteries are approaching depletion, without disrupting counting operations.
