Hodson's Self-Build Motor Kit allows students to construct their own motor.
All the kit parts, neatly packed in a sturdy transparent container with a screw cap, allow students to wind the rotor, create the commutator, make the brushes, and effortlessly assemble the frame and magnets in a short span of time.
A unique feature of the kit is the ability to wind different types of windings on the rotor, including single coil, double coil, or four coils.
This feature enhances the students' comprehension of electric motor principles and commutation processes.
The motor can operate on either DC or AC power, with a 'D' size dry cell or a 2V DC power supply typically being used.
