In agricultural applications, monitoring the quality of the soil is very important for the healthy growth of crops.
The Quick Soiltest kit contains all the reagents and components required to perform 10 tests of each of pH, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K).
The procedure involves taking a sample of soil and mixing it with water to dissolve the nutrients.
After adding a sachet of specific reagents, the solution becomes coloured and can be compared to a standard colour card to estimate the concentration of the element being tested.
The pH tests in the range 4-9; the nitrogen test uses the NED method; the phosphorus test uses ascorbic acid; and the potassium test uses tetraphenyl borate.
The three element tests return results of trace, low, medium or high concentrations.
